Y5 visit Bristol's hi-tech hub
Year 5 had an inspirational day of hands-on hi-tech science and engineering on Tuesday when they visited Bristol’s Technology zone situated around Temple Meads station’s Engine Shed.
During the day the children learnt about some of the ground breaking science and engineering which is going on in Bristol such as ’ultra-sonic’ gesture controls which you can feel in the air!
The children had the opportunity to try their hand at some amazing chemistry and talk to the inspiring engineers, mathematicians and scientists which are making science fiction a reality right here in Bristol.
The trip was entirely free (paid for by the Tech companies in the zone) after a twitter tip-off that they were looking to work with schools.
The trip was certainly a hit with the children: “That was the best trip ever!” said Alfie, whilst Kel-al declared “This is where I’m going to work when I get older.
The school is now talking to the Engine Shed about the possibility of sending other year groups as we think this is an excellent opportunity to inspire and amaze.
