  • Welcome back to Blackhorse

We would like to welcome you all back to the start of another academic year at Blackhorse and extend a warm welcome to the new families that are joining our community for the first time.

It has been a pleasure to see the children returning to school and settling into their new classrooms with such confidence.  The children all look super smart and have been showing the best version of themselves to their new teachers and demonstrating how ready, respectful and safe they can be at all times.

In assembly on Monday, we reminded ourselves of our school mission to ‘Build Champion Learners’ through Extensive Opportunities, Expert Tuition, Purposeful Practice and Personal Effort.  We talked about how the adults at school will work hard to make this year the best yet and how they can contribute to this.

We also reminded them of the good habits we need to get back into.  These include arriving at school on time every day and being present in every lesson and ready to actively engage.  We also talked about the importance of a healthy diet and a good sleep routine.

Finally, we discussed the benefits of joining one of our many after-school clubs on offer.  These will start in Week 3 and an email will be sent early next week with all the details.

We would like to welcome Ben Maxted and Emily Lancaster to the teaching team.  Ben is teaching in Yew class and Emily is teaching in Poplar.

This year we will be aiming to keep you updated on everything that is happening via our revamped website: www.blackhorseprimary.org.uk and via our Instagram @blackhorseprimary
