Vacancies

Blackhorse Primary School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff to share this commitment.  All staff employed to work at the school are required to act in accordance with the statutory document, Keeping Children Safe in Education, and must always have regard to it when carrying out their duties.

All or our posts are covered by the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (2013 and 2020) because it is a post which involves working directly with children or young people.  If you are shortlisted for any of our vacancies, you will be required to complete a self-declaration of your criminal record or information that would make you unsuitable to work with children.  If your application is successful, prior to taking up your post, you will be required to complete a separate (enhanced) DBS application form, and to provide documentary evidence of your identity.

In addition to the DBS process, any employment at Blackhorse Primary School is conditional upon the satisfactory results of the following clearances:

  • an identity check;
  • a check with the Teaching Regulation Agency (TRA) Prohibition list for those employed to carry out teaching work;
  • where a person has lived or worked overseas any further checks the school considers appropriate so that relevant events that occurred outside the UK can be considered;
  • a right to work in the UK check;
  • An online search to ensure you are suitable to work at the School
  • Verification of professional and other qualifications;
  • Two professional references
  • Verification of fitness to work check;
  • An online search, undertaken for applicants reaching the shortlisting stage.

ALL applicants invited to interview at Blackhorse Primary School need to have read the Visitors' Safeguarding and Confidentiality agreement (see below).
