Developing Reasoning Skills

Over the past year, we have been working hard to explicitly teach the skills required for children to be able to answer reasoning questions. In 2023, we created a reasoning toolkit to help all children access different reasoning questions. This reasoning toolkit lies at the heart of our modelling of reasoning and is displayed clearly to allow all children to use it as a support throughout the year. It is based on 3 or 6 simple questions to provide children with a structure to hang their knowledge on.
