Blackhorse Runs

Blackhorse Track Team, the school's Cross-country running club, is the most successful cross-country teams in the South West. Track team is one of the largest clubs in the school with over 60 members. 

 

The team has won the local CSET Cross-country league 10 times in the last 11 years, has won at the S Glos Pomphrey Hill competition every year for the past 8 years and won one of the 4 events at the annual Colstons Inter-county competition every year since 2017. 

 

So far, eleven ex-members have gone on to compete at a national level, with 3 ex-members currently ranked in the top ten nationally. Two members have so far gone on to become professional sports people (see below).

Molly Jones wrote to the school to thank us for getting her interested in running. Ten years later, she is one of the best University Athletes in the US, having earned a sports scholarship (in running) to Coastal Carolina University.

Coastal Carolina University's cross country teams will participate in the NCAA Southeast Regional in Louisville, Ky., on Friday, Nov. 11. One student-athlete who is in position to place well at the meet is junior Molly Jones. Jones, who is from Marlow, England, won the 2022 Sun Belt Conference Cross Country Championship this past weekend.
