Well-being support (Children & Families)

How we support children and families with their health and well-being

At Blackhorse we offer a range of services to children and families to support your well-being.

Our Family Support Officer, Emma Touzalin, can support parents with a wide range of issues, including parenting strategies & routines, finance issues, returning to the workplace, looking after your own mental health, separation etc. She is happy to meet with parents either in school, at your home or at a local cafe for a coffee and is on hand to help with problems - big or small.

Our Nurture Facilitator and ELSA, Carie Stainsby, can support children in school who may be need a little additional support or intervention around positive well being. Carie leads our Meadow Class (our Nurture provision) and supports children through timely intervention based around the principles of 'Nurture' and emotional literacy support.

Our children's counsellor, Sara Alhadeff (or Mrs A as the children call her), is a fully qualified therapist who support children at school on Monday's and Wednesday's (often with the help of Stanley - the school's therapy dog). She can support children with one-off small worries, to coping with larger life events, to providing extended therapies for children with more complex emotional and mental health needs.
